Rules & Terms
1 – The first THR Film Festival will have a hybrid format, with in-person screenings taking place in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and online screenings accessible throughout Latin America. It will take place in the last week of May, 2025.
2 ~ As a project aimed at promoting discussion on an important public health topic, the festival will not charge an entry fee for its participants.
3 - The festival is structured as a non-competitive film exhibition, with the films distributed in the following categories: Feature Films, Documentary, Short Films and One-Minute Films.
4 - Eligibility requirements:
4.1 - Running time for all feature films must be 60 minutes or more
4.2 - Running time for all shorts must be less than 30 minutes
4.3 - One-Minute Films must be 60 seconds or less.
4.4 - Films not spoken in English or Spanish must include subtitles in one of these languages.
5 - The films must have digital file such as ProRes, H264, or MP4 as their screening format; exceptions to that requirement must be arranged in advance between the producer/director/distributor of the films and the Festival Organizing Committee.
6 – To submit a film for consideration by the Festival Organizing Committee you must send an online screener, exclusively through FilmFreeway, before March 14th, 23h59.
7 - Submitting multiple films is allowed without any limit for companies and filmmakers.
8 - All commercial/private property, including all trademark/copyrighted images and songs shown or recorded in the film, is the sole responsibility of the filmmaker. By submitting their entry, the filmmaker states that they are responsible as an agent to promote the film and that their film is an original work.
9 – The filmmakers grant the festival non-exclusive rights to publicly screen their work.
10 - The filmmakers agree that clips and images from their films may be used in the festival promotional material.
11 - No entry forms are required. Submission of your film to the festival implies your acknowledgment and agreement to comply with all festival regulations.
12 - Although this is a non-competitive festival, standout works may receive special mentions and/or be invited to participate in partner events.
